Dart Music Festival Facts and Figures
Hello again - just thought you might be interested in our website statistics for April - seems like it's quite a popular site! Wonder why...?
Thank you for your feedback and also your good wishes. We do appreciate your comments re our programme sales strategy and are sorry if you have found it off-putting. Just to explain, each year we need to raise around £50,000 to pay the musicians and fund the event. As we do not receive any funding or grants, the volunteer Committee works tirelessly throughout the year to raise sponsorship and hold many fund raising events, however the income raised from programme sales is still absolutely vital for the continuation of the Festival. This year we have more performers and variety of genres than ever, so hopefully there should be something for everyone on each day, and with the exception of one ticketed event all the music is free. All we ask is a small donation in the collecting tins if you've enjoyed the music, and visitors' support via the purchase of a programme, which many people like to keep as a souvenir. This is the model we have chosen as it has proved to be successful for the last fifteen years, so I hope you will understand our reasons. Should you decide to come to the Festival, we hope you will find some music to your taste and that you will enjoy the event. With best regards.
My reply to 'Anonymous6 May 2012 14:59' above is please forward your thoughts and ideas on alternatives ways to raise money. The DMF committee have used this method for the last 15 yrs and know that it works. But we realise it may not be suitable for everyone, so please send us your ideas, if they are any good we will certainly consider them. Alan, Vice chairman, DMF
Pretty impressive - thanks!Looking forward to next weekend
ReplyDeleteSorry to say....
ReplyDeleteyour website makes it really difficult for visitors - it is really unclear.
The strategy of not putting details of performers and venues on the website and asking for £3 for an emailed programme is really off putting
You need to look up "free" as a business model and find other ways of raising the money from programmes.
Still wishing you the best of luck
