First of all, a very BIG thank you to all our sponsors.
Yes, I know we've said it before, but that doesn't mean we don't still mean it..!
The DMF
Committee would just like to say a huge thank you
to all those who have so generously supported and sponsored the Festival in the
past.
Perhaps people may not realise that even though the music all
over town is free, running the Dart Music Festival isn’t! All the musicians,
along with all the other expenses, must be paid - so we know that without our
sponsors we simply could not put on the event, and now that the DMF Team is gearing up to organise this year’s Festival
it seems like a good opportunity to let people know how grateful we are for
their continued help and support.
Although we do our best, working hard with fund raising events
throughout the year to raise the £55,000+ needed to hold the Festival, there is
only so much the small DMF band of volunteers can achieve – which is why our
sponsors are so important to us and why we so appreciate their help.
It’s fair to say that the Festival really couldn’t happen
without their generosity and any donation – large or small – really does help,
so we do realise how lucky we are to have such brilliant support from all our
valued sponsors to ensure that we can go ahead with the Festival again. Yes, we are
seventeen this year, and we know that we couldn’t do it without you..!
There are, of
course, many tempting benefits of being a Music Festival Sponsor: the
invitations to the sponsors’ parties; the listing on the DMF website – and
links for our Gold and Platinum sponsors - and also in the programme for
donations over £50; logos in the DMF programme and banners in the Royal Avenue
Gardens for our Platinum sponsors; the business window certificates; the free
programmes etc. etc. – not to mention the badges!
N.B. The deadline for
programme inclusion this year is 14th February 2014.

But probably
the greatest benefit of all as a sponsor must be the feel-good factor - to be
able to look around at all the happy people enjoying the artists enjoying what
they love to do – which is to play their music for the people – and realise
that you helped to make it all possible…

Just to whet
your appetites for this year’s Festival, I can tell you that we already have
some fantastic artists booked, including Martha Tilston, Marcus Bonfanti, The
Dirty Aces with Giles Robson, Vocal Works Gospel Choir, Swing Machine Jazz Orchestra, Company B, Christian Garrick Quartet, Jo
Harman, Winter Mountain, and last but definitely not least Oscar winning film
music composer Stephen Warbeck – to name but a few.
In addition to
these great acts we also have plans for several workshops, so that people can
enjoy and experience Taiko drumming, a loop machine with Ash Mandrake, singing
workshops with Vicky Hadland, African drumming with Denis Kigongo, hopefully a
Ukulele workshop - and you can even create your own scratch band with Wren
Music!
Look out for
further details on our website and blog in due course.
