Eight Days and Counting to the Dart Music Festival...

Yep - it all kicks off a week tomorrow and we're all hoping the weather will be kind to us and improve so that we can use one of our favourite fine weather venues - Bayards Cove Fort.

There have been a couple of years when it's just been too cold to use it... in fact this is what it looks like when it's (nearly) empty...

On the other hand, when the sun's out it's a really special venue as the acoustics are great, the views are to die for and the artists all seem to really enjoy performing, there as these lovely people from Devonly Voices show...

I remember being surrounded by a crowd of happy people there, enjoying listening to Jim Crawford singing Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' in the warm sunshine. I won't lie to you, it sent shivers down my spine - and the rest of the audience seemed to be similarly transfixed. Let's hope dear old Bayards gets a chance to work its magic again this year...

Some of the artists scheduled to play there - weather permitting - are Medicine Creek, Troy Faid, Louise Jordan, Thomas Ford, Chaz Thorogood, James Froud, Gumbo Flyers and Rebbeca Mayes.

The view from the Fort back along Bayards Cove.
All performance dates and times are, of  course, in our souvenir programme available by download, post or at various outlets in town once you are here (check out our website for further details).

If by any chance rain/wind should stop play, the concert will be moved to the Masonic Hall, which is about two minutes away in Lower Street. It's really easy to find - come out of Bayards Fort and walk back to the top of Bayards Cove, carry on past the Dartmouth Arms, Bayards Cove Inn, Rockfish, Cafe Alf Resco etc and keep going for a minute or so - the Masonic Hall is through an archway on the right hand side of the road just past the 'Gifts For Gentlemen' shop.

You can't miss it, but there will be signs up just in case you do...

PS Please note the blue sky and sun in the above photo - and keep it firmly in mind...! Bye for now.
