Dart Music Festival Classical News - Ji Liu

Award winning pianist Ji Liu makes his first appearance at Dart Music Festival this year - and we can't wait!

Born in 1990, Ji studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2005 and 2006 he took part in the Verbier Festival & Academy where he received the Tabor Piano Award and CUBS Prize. 

He went on to study at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia with Dmitri Bashkirov, and the Royal Academy of Music with Christopher Elton, graduating in 2013.

Ji has appeared as soloist at major venues and festivals internationally including Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Concertgebouw, Auditorium du Louvre and Carnegie Hall New York.




Classic FM released YCAT pianist Ji Liu’s debut album on Monday 27 January. The CD is called Piano Reflections and includes Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Chopin Nocturnes, Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and music by Liszt, Schubert, Debussy, Saint-Saens and Tchaikovsky.
