The Porters are back...!We are delighted to welcome back to Dartmouth the very talented Porter Family, who will not only be performing at the event but who have very kindly played at in the Windjammer Inn during the year to help raise funds for the Festival.
The Porters are, from left to right:
Barney, Hannah, Tim, Helen and Beth.
They are all busy doing their own things right now - Tim tells me that Barney now works in the Music and Drama department at Sibford School near Banbury, and plays guitar in Wired who perform at many large functions up and down the country.
Hannah plays in several jazz orientated bands in the Warwickshire area and continues conjuring up quirky illustrations.
Helen teaches piano, and Tim runs music events in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire including the Banbury Blues & Roots Festival. Tim also tours with various guitarists, and teaches harmonica.
Beth Porter and the Availables
The Availables are Jools Scott on piano. Sue Lord, and Ian Vorley on violin, Emma Hooper on viola, Paul McMahon and Daisy Palmer shared drumming duties, Jeff Spencer and Pete Gibbs on bass.
The album was recorded and mixed at J&J Studios, Bristol. Mastered by Haford Mastering.
The band will be touring the UK as well as performing in-store record shop concerts to promote the album. The vinyl will be available from all good record shops, including Rough Trade, Truck Records, Raves from the Grave, Sound Knowledge, Rise Records, Mr B’s Emporium, Coda, Fopp, Blackwells and HMV.
The download will be available from 9th March on all download services, and there will be a digital pre-order from the 9th Feb on selected sites, including iTunes
