'Pirates of the Caribbean' comes to Dartmouth...

Well, not really - but a little bird told me (Marilyn Bird, to be precise) that one of the members of the New Devon Opera has also appeared in 'Pirates' and much more. Marilyn, our Classical Music Director, has been speaking to N.D.O.writer and director Martyn Harrison and reports:

"I met up with Martyn yesterday and he is so excited to be bringing this new production to Dartmouth. When talking about the amazing performers that he is rehearsing with in London he mentioned Stuart Boother whose mother, also a singer,  lives in Brixham.

Stuart trained originally at Mountview Academy of Music theatre, then went on to study method acting in Hollywood with Bernard Hiller, He began his professional career in the West End, singing the lead roles in Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables, Imagine This and more. He has performed in theatre, TV, film and radio, alongside the likes of Jenny Agutter, Lord Richard Attenborough, Peter Polycarpou and Johnny Depp in “Pirates of the Caribbean” to name but a few. Stuart has since performed lead roles in operas and operettas such as La Traviata, Carmen, Othello and Yeoman of the Guard. He began working on the cross-over into opera at the start of 2011 and we are thrilled that he is coming to sing with New Devon Opera in “Three Sides of Seduction” at this year’s Festival."

'Three Sides of Seduction: Opera's Eternal Women'
