DENIS KIGONGO – AFRICAN DRUMMING WORKSHOP
Denis Kigongo Victor is originally from Uganda but has lived and worked in the UK for a long time.
Denis is a trained teacher, youth worker and educator. He has worked with over 300 schools in the England over the years using music, and has also been a youth worker at numerous youth work related programs including Amber - a youth rehabilitation centre in Mid Devon.
He was part of the Exeter street team, supported by Devon Youth Services, and has worked in and led youth work projects in Dawlish, Teignmouth, Taunton, Crediton and Lapford, Chulmleigh. He has used music for therapy while working with teenagers and special needs groups which has enriched his experience.
Denis has travelled extensively all over UK and Europe to countries like Germany, Netherlands, and Switzerland where he has lead workshops and performed on a number of projects including the Amsterdam Film festival.
His sessions are fun, inclusive, and practical for anyone who wants to have ago - even if they are not ‘musicians’.
Denis Kigongo Victor is proud to have an outstanding reputation as an African music and workshops provider based in South West England, which has resulted in numerous alliances and collaborations with schools, colleges, academies and organizations like Devon Arts in Schools Initiative, Devon Music Services, Exeter Respect Festival and many more.
