Dartmouth Rocks Dart Music Fest!

Dartmouth Rock - Back by popular demand!

Following last year’s highly successful debut performance, Dartmouth’s very own a cappella pop/rock choir is back again by popular demand - but in a much bigger venue!  Last year, many disappointed people were left straining their ears outside a packed Flavel Church, so this time the choir will be raising the roof of St Saviour’s Church, where there will hopefully be enough room for everyone!

Dartmouth Rock, which celebrates its 2nd birthday on 23rd April, is going from strength to strength and is a wonderful example of a true community activity.

There are no auditions, its 50-plus members come from all walks of life and all parts of the town and surrounding villages and they all absolutely love singing together!

The choir has come a long way in its short life and is now in demand for fundraising and private events.

As well as performing to a capacity audience at the 2014 Dart Music Festival, they performed a very well received cabaret spot at the fundraising Snow Ball for new Christmas lights for the town last November.

The Choir also and gave an extremely successful concert in St Saviour’s in December for the Children’s Hospice South West which raised £2,000 for the charity.

They also gave a fundraising concert for the Flavel Arts Centre  in March this year which raised just under £1,000 for the venue in this its 10th anniversary year.

The choir perform an entertaining mix of hit songs ranging from the 1950s to the present day.  They are constantly adding to their repertoire and, along with favourites by Abba and Adele, their Festival concert will include songs by Queen, Aretha Franklin, Coldplay and The Proclaimers – the latter being the performance of an arrangement written especially for the choir by one of its own members!

Dartmouth Rock create a unique and exciting vocal sound and their concerts are always a wonderfully uplifting experience.

So, make sure you’re at St Saviour’s Church in good time - don't miss out!

Full performance details in the official DMF Programme.
