Moulettes at Dart Music Festival

Many Moulettes met and started playing music together when they were 15-17, releasing an acclaimed debut album on Balling The Jack/Sotones in 2010 - which found its way on to several Best Of The Year lists - and winning an Innovation Award and 'Best Group' from the prestigious Fatea roots-music website and a nomination for best band by the alternative Brit awards.

Their charismatic, idiosyncratic yet poppy brand of  progressive, psychedelic neo-classical folk rock has enthralled crowds at many festivals as varied as Bestival, Glastonbury, End of the Road and Cropredy.

Few bands have the scope of Moulettes. Containing a mix of self taught and classically trained members who have shared the stage and studio with the likes of Seasick Steve, John Paul Jones, Nick Cave, Mick Jagger, Dave Gilmour, Gentle Giant, Paloma Faith, Bonobo, Paul Heaton of The Beautiful South, Liz Green, Ríoghnach Connolly, Laura Hockenhull, Matt Menefee (Cadillac Sky/Chess boxer) and many more.

Their significant initial period was spent playing live and promoting the Den Of Iniquity nights in London that brought a host of indie, folk, prog and psychedelic bands together.  After seven years of being a live band it was only in 2009 that their eponymous debut was released. Ex-Moulette Ted Dwane, now of Mumford & Sons returned to the fold in summer 2011 to help record the band’s second album, The Bear’s Revenge. Having constantly been on the road for four years,   Moulettes continue their touring with a new album throughout April and May prior to a host of summer festival dates.

Now Moulettes return with their third studio album, and their first for Navigator Records, ‘Constellations’ on June 2nd (see website link for full details)
