KEZIA at Dart Music Festival

Kezia

Kezia is a singer/songwriter whose sound drifts between both folk and blues with a tinge of country. Her lyric based songs are accompanied by thoughtful melodies based around the piano and guitar.

Although just 21 years old, Kezia’s mature voice sings heartfelt lyrics of matters that many can relate to, conveying a certain melancholy that is heard throughout her music.

Even though her music career is only just beginning, Kezia has played at some major South West Festivals including Relentless Boardmasters, Leopallooza and the Eden Sessions.

Last year she was personally invited to support The Blue Aeroplanes at their annual gig at The Fleece and she was asked to perform in the Olympic Park, where she supported Feeder.

Her musical abilities have also won her slots supporting artists such as The Proclaimers, Kaiser Chiefs and Lucy Rose. Many have begun to notice her powerful lyrics and beautiful voice and she has been voted two years in a row for the Cornish Guardian What’s on Awards ‘Best Female’.

Kezia worked alongside Producer John Cornfield who has worked with the likes of Muse, Razorlight and Supergrass to produce her 6 track debut EP ‘Kezia', released in April 2013.

 Reviews:

‘Kezia stopped me in my tracks she has a truly beautiful voice, like Anne Briggs but Cornish’ — Neil Halstead, Singer/songwriter

‘If one musician is worthy of a special mention this year it’s Kezia, the young singer songwriter from Camborne who astonished all who saw her across Cornwall, with her mature voice and mesmerising performances. Shouts of “our own Laura Marling” aren’t far off the mark’ — Lee Trewhela, Cornish Guardian

'Cornwall’s answer to Laura Marling, Kezia’s liquid-smooth vocals, bright finger picking style, and more sombre keyboard playing, are quite simply stunning. But there’s more than mere comparisons to this lass. She’s got real substance, and makes music for what seems like all the right reasons'. – Fi Read, Cornwall Today Newspaper
