Texas Tunesmith 'Suitcase' Slim Semora comes to Dart Music Festival

Slim Semora, aka Suitcase Slim - the one man Texas band - began life in Houston, Texas. From early on he found he was a natural tunesmith, and he grew up listening to the likes of ZZ Top, John Lee Hooker, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Robert Johnson, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and more.

Slim’s Southern roots have always been apparent in his music style which today has morphed into a unique blend of Americana with country blues, rockabilly and folk rock influences.

Semora is an accomplished musician with time in the saddle, having spent his youth touring the States in various bands as well as owning recording studios in Austin, Houston and Wichita. More recently he landed on our shores where he resides in Devon with his lovely wife, Jayne

He performs using acoustic guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, foot tambourine and a beaten up old suitcase with bass drum - a melodic, finger picking style with gutsy rhythm.

At the Looe Music Festival he was quoted as being 'like a band, but just one man!', and  Wilko Johnson recently said “That’s what I like”!

Now touring the UK with his new CD 'Volumes of One' and with more radio shows and festivals underway, 2014 is looking to be a very good year for Slim!

Go to: www.suitcaseslim.com or www.slimsemora.com to hear more….

Slim will be performing live at the Dart Music Festival so come and enjoy some sounds from Texas!
